The term Cloud Computing is being used more and more in IT discussions with varying definitions and services provided. Cloud Computing is where data and software applications, as well as computer processing, are accessed from a cloud of online resources. This allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation, and access their personal files at any computer that has internet access. This technology allows for much more efficient computing by centralising storage, memory, processing, and bandwidth. This technology also reduces the capital costs of organisations, which can now purchase software and hardware on an as needed basis.
You can think of cloud computing as a pyramid with three layers:

- Application – the application layer, the top layer, refers to the software applications that are used by organisations.
- Platform – the platform layer, the middle layer of cloud computing, refers to products that are used to deploy operating systems.
- Infrastructure – the infrastructure layer is at the bottom of the pyramid and is the foundation and backbone of Cloud Computing. This layer is where computer infrastructure or hardware, physical storage space, and processing capabilities sit. This is also the layer where iseek Communications operates.
iseek Managed Infrastructure (iMI)
iMI, the backbone of iseek Communication’s Cloud Computing offering, operates in the infrastructure layer.

The iMI solution provides business customers with a fully-managed server systems technology. This infrastructure offers high density computing power, capacity on demand, and has both cost and performance advantages when compared to traditional hardware services. The iMI comprises state-of-the-art, Enterprise Class Data Centres located in Brisbane. iMI provides an optimal physical environment to house applications and operating systems.
